Artists’ Mission
The League of Fine Artists--South (LOFAS)
is a group of fine artists working in a wide range of media, who exhibit their
artworks, either as a group or independently, and who are dedicated to the
highest standards of
draftsmanship. . .
through the backing and support of a group dynamic, wherein we are able to
provide fellow members with opportunities
to present themselve credibly in public exhibits and to advance to ever
higher levels of artistic draftmanship and innovation;
by always working toward enhancing our skills and
experimenting with innovative and edgey styles through regularly practicing our
craft, attending workshops and lectures, reading, reviewing art periodicals and
viewing the work of fellow artists at galleries and museums, as well as seeking
critiques from professionals in the art world;
by sharing our understanding and knowledge of visual
arts, its philosophy, its techniques and its presentations, limited only by our
vision and imagination, and by interacting with the community at public
showings of our work;
by fostering sociability and promoting good fellowship
among our members through sharing common experiences and goals.
